Typical Activities and Events

A-OK activities and events may be educational, recreational or just plain social. Examples from the past include:

  • park days
  • a younger kids' gathering
  • swimming and sprinkler park days
  • a craft-making fair
  • geometry days
  • geography days
  • a Shakespeare class
  • a Spanish class
  • a peewee soccer class
  • a Lego group
  • a cheese and soap-making event
  • myriad field trips (nature walks, maple-sugaring, bird-watching, beach conservation, biodiesel fuel, etc.)
  • classes and lectures at nearby science and technology institutions
  • a regular farm gathering
  • Halloween/Day of the Dead parties
  • Valentine's Day parties
  • barn dances
  • a harvest potluck
  • a solstice potluck
  • monthly ladies' nights
In addition, there are smaller gatherings that happen off-list, for example, a kindergarten coop or a weekly hang-out time for teenage girls.
